anticipating adventure

I never did want to be the adventure,

the purpose,

the mission.

I wanted to be a part of something grand,

a greater purpose

seeking a Gift that will never end.

I longed to be whisked away,

swept up,

in the marvelous Journey that is, God.

And on a summer day in late July,

the familiar One outstretched His hand.

I joined Him in that journey

where I, finally, came to Life.
